Giant Training Day
/In the offices - Steve Boden, Sarah Boden, Ray Morrison, Louise Redmond, Mike Royce, Mikey Shaw, Ian Plimbley & Chris Ball.
Before we let any hiring company 'loose' with any of our big giant costumes for Jack and the Beanstalk, they have to come and spend at least a day with us, being fully briefed on how the effects work, and slowly working their way up from learning to walk on stilts through to wearing the full costume. Sometimes this can take more than one day, and anything up to a week! Here's what happened on the recent 'Giant Training Days'....
First in was the Courtyard Theatre, Hereford with their 'Giant', Anthony...
First trying the stilts...
...then into the body...
...then getting the whole kit on.
Then it was the turn of Liam, who is the Giant in our production in Crewe...
First onto the stilts...
...and up on his feet...
Then into costume (see his head poking out!).
In the costume with no stilts...
...Finally the whole effect is achieved!
