From 400 Miles to Panto Smiles: We’re Cheering on Owain Wyn Evans!
/This November, everyone at Imagine Theatre will be cheering on Owain Wyn Evans as he takes on an incredible challenge for BBC Children in Need, just weeks before joining us in Swansea for this year’s spectacular production of Snow White.
Owain is taking on Owain’s 4 Nations Cycle Challenge, an epic five-day journey covering nearly 400 miles across Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales. It is the greatest distance ever covered in a Radio 2 fundraising challenge.
Setting off from Glasgow on Monday 9 November, Owain will cycle through all four UK nations before, appropriately for such a proud Welshman, crossing the finish line in central Cardiff on Friday 13 November.
A challenge for a brilliant cause
The challenge is raising money for BBC Children in Need, helping to support children and young people across the UK.
Owain has admitted that the challenge will take him well outside his comfort zone, describing it as “tough, demanding and probably a little daunting”, but has promised to give it everything he has.
Knowing the energy and enthusiasm that Owain brings to everything he does, we have absolutely no doubt about that!
Everyone at Imagine will be behind him every mile of the way, and we hope our audiences, friends and panto family across the UK will get behind him too.
From the cycling saddle to the Swansea stage
Once those 400 miles are safely behind him, Owain has another big adventure waiting for him.
This Christmas, he joins the cast of Snow White at Swansea Grand Theatre, which runs from 5 December 2026 to 3 January 2027.
Owain will be joined by a fantastic cast including Rebecca Keatley, Suzanne Shaw, Christian Patterson and Steve Walls, with a special digital appearance from Swansea favourite Kev Johns.
It promises to be a magical Swansea Christmas, packed with comedy, music, spectacular costumes and everything audiences love about pantomime.
For Owain, it also means that after travelling through four nations, he gets to finish 2026 back home in Wales, entertaining thousands of families over Christmas.
Good luck, Owain!
At Imagine Theatre, we know how passionate Owain is about entertaining people, but taking on a challenge like this for BBC Children in Need is something very special.
So, from all of us at Imagine Theatre and the entire Snow White company:
Go on, Owain! We’re incredibly proud to have you as part of our panto family and we’ll be cheering you on all the way to Cardiff.
Then, perhaps after a very well-earned rest, we can’t wait to welcome you to Swansea!
You can follow Owain’s 4 Nations Cycle Challenge and find out how to support BBC Children in Need.
