Role Title - Head of Wardrobe – Maternity Cover
Contract Duration - Maternity cover – likely 12 months
Salary - By negotiation plus business performance related bonuses plus pension
Holiday - 33 days per year inclusive of statutory bank holidays. Holiday is strictly limited in October and not permitted in November, December and January.
Place of work - Coventry Head Office – Trafalgar House, 186, Torrington Avenue, Coventry, CV4 9AJ
Hours of work - 40 hours per week with overtime as required to complete the job (particularly during panto season).
Travel - There will be a requirement to travel around the country attending photoshoots, marketing events and potentially to help out during rehearsals. This may include (rarely) overnight stays.
What are we looking for?
We have a vacancy within our wardrobe team for a highly skilled professional, who possesses a strong understanding of managing and overseeing a theatrical wardrobe department. With experience in a similar role, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability in managing a busy wardrobe department with the focus on operations of the departments and strategic planning. In addition to holding core skills and understanding in cutting, making and sewing Reporting directly into the Head of Operations, this individual will be highly experienced in IT, organisation and team management
The person we need, would have or be
Able to manage their own time, and to effectively plan schedules and delivery dates.
Overseeing the delivery of projects including delivery of our pantomime season and hires
Overseeing the operation of the work room and the management and day to day scheduling of the work room team.
Overseeing efficient management and administration of the department, including management of freelancers
IT literate with basic knowledge of Office 365. Ability to learn new software as required
Procuring and sourcing of materials, fabric and accessories
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
Ability to work under pressure
Flexibility with working hours to suit business needs Desirable Experience:
To be able to work independently and remotely when required.
Problem solving wardrobe skills with ability to assist with modifications in order ensure suitable costuming solutions are provided across all our productions.
Essential Skills
Budget planning of the department
Staffing budgets – at head office and Imagine shows
Budgeting costume provision to our own productions and our hires
Expenses and coding of receipts and overseeing spends for the department
Script reading and able to create costume bibles and costume plots
Staff management
To support in creating a safe, pleasant, respectful and productive work environment setting an example of positive professional standards.
To promote an environmentally sustainable workplace, adhering to the Theatre Greenbook initiative.
Scheduling of wardrobe teams at head office including booking staff, makers etc
Liaising with designers and external makers.
Recruiting and working with production Wardrobe Teams in various venues across the country.

Essential Experience
A minimum of 3-4 years experience of theatre costuming ideally within a producing theatre
A good working knowledge of relevant costume making tools and machinery
Experienced in IT with basic Knowledge of 365.
Organising and coordinating the fitting of costumes
Coordination of costumes and personal required to the relevant photo shoots
Health and Safety awareness including COSHH

What are we looking for?
We have a vacancy within our wardrobe team for a skilled professional, who will support our wardrobe provision for our productions. Reporting directly into the Head of Wardrobe and Deputy Head of Wardrobe.
As a Wardrobe Assistant the individual will support the costume department by managing, maintaining, and repairing garments, ensuring they are show-ready.
Key responsibilities include laundering, ironing, steaming, making, altering and sourcing of costumes.
The role includes but is not limited to:
Cleaning, steaming, washing, ironing, and repairing costumes daily to ensure high standards.
Sorting, labelling, and storing costumes and keeping inventory records.
Performing basic sewing and repairs (hand-sewing, machine, or overlocking).
To assist with costume making and construction for Imagine productions, and other projects in which the Company have an interest.
Altering, adapting or repairing stock costumes, employing construction techniques and identifying any construction issues.
Assisting with costume preparation to external hires.
Assisting with costume fittings and costumes preparation required for any marketing purpose.
Maintaining our stock of costumes, headwear, wigs and shoes for shows and hires.
Working with production Wardrobe Teams.
Measuring and fitting actors.
Supporting costume returns.
Administrative tasks and computer skills to support the Wardrobe department.

Experience in alteration to existing garments.
